leave a comment »

Members Church of God International’s (MCGI) calendar for the month of December highlights the congregation’s International Thanksgiving for the 4th quarter of 2011:

1) Aside from the regular bi-monthly Bible Expositions on Friday nights, the first-ever marathon Bible Exposition was launched last December 18 at 8:00 in the morning, Philippine time.
With the new set-up, members can invite guests in their respective homes, offices and local chapters and connect to the twelve-hour Bible Exposition to be anchored by Bro. Daniel Razon. Using a personal computer or a laptop and a stable internet connection, visitors can ask questions to Bro. Eli Soriano.

2) The Mass Indoctrination that opens on the 5th of the month gathers almost a thousand souls in December 17’s Mass Baptism. The figure again includes new converts from South America.

3) The 4th Quarter Mass Blood Letting of the Kamanggagawa Foundation Inc., in cooperation with UNTV Channel 37 is supported by the members of congregation. With the different MCGI local chapters as venues, almost 2,000 blood bags are gathered as the activity ends.

4) December 23-25 marks MCGI’s 4th Quarter International Thanksgiving. Once again, the ADD Convention Center is flocked by a massive volume of participants from different provinces and cities. Almost 4,000 monitoring centers joined the event from different parts of the world.

5) It was another night to remember when composers and lyricists of the MCGI congregation get together to showcase their opus and vie for this year’s A Song of Praise Music Festival Year-end Finals.
Entries come from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, Hongkong, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Brunei and South America. Of the fifteen entries, winners were chosen by Bro. Eli Soriano himself. The winning divisions/chapters are as follows:
Third runner-up: South America and Papua New Guinea
Second runner-up: Central Visayas Division
First runner-up: National Capital Region and South America
Song of the Year: Tamis ng Unang Pag-ibig (Pampanga Division)

During last Saturday’s Thanksgiving, brethren from Papua New Guinea (PNG) had offered thanksgiving in celebration of its third year since the chapter’s inception in 2008.

It was in June 1, 2008 when 100 souls were baptized in the country. After three years, the number of brethren keeps on growing and more souls are eagerly listening to Bro. Eli’s The Old Path (TOP) program. Indoctrination sessions and Bible Studies were also being attended by the natives of the country.

leave a comment »

The mass baptism held last May 6 garnered more than 1,600 souls that join the Members of Church of God International (MCGI). The figure includes former officers of other religious groups- a former deacon, a diakono ng kabataan (deacon of youth), pangulo ng buklod (group president), and locale treasurer.

Rodolfo Capablanca, a former pastor of Assembly of God in Mindanao had been curious of the different charitable works and public service rendered by MCGI. After listening to Bro. Eli, he evaluates, “I can see that the ministry (of MCGI) is really of God.”

A former Buddhist from Singapore recalls how empty her life before. She never felt any happiness. After listening to Bro. Eli’s preaching, she had felt uplifted and she assessed that, “I know that he can keep the hope.”

Being the topic discussed in May 7 thanksgiving day, Bro. Eli encouraged the congregation to offer the newly baptized members before God; for this is the fruit of the efforts of the Church with the guidance and help of God.

Officers of erroneous faith turned believers

leave a comment »

Baptisms in different areas in the Philippines and abroad continues reaping souls to take heed of God’s commandment and offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving.  In the previous baptisms, not just members, but officers or leaders of their previous religion were enlightened and realized the false doctrines and erroneous teachings that they embraced before.

This includes an Iglesia ni Manalo deacon, an assistant pastor of the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (PMCC), a female pastor of the Baptist Church and an elder and treasurer of the Church of Christ and a lay minister.

More reason to celebrate and give thanks

leave a comment »

The September 25, 2010 Thanksgiving was filled with countless stories for Members Church of God International (MCGI) to give thanks and offer praises to God Almighty.

The supposedly regular Saturday Thanksgiving appears to be a one day International Thanksgiving as voices offering thanksgiving and praises to God were almost countless. These are coming from groups and individuals alike.

  • The September 24 Mass Baptism brought almost 1,000 newly baptized souls to MCGI from the different chapters in the Philippines and abroad.
  • A Chinese national joined the flock last week, one of the fruit of the Mandarin edition of The Old Path program.
  • A three-hectare land in Australia was purchased to accommodate brethren and guests as well during regular church services schedule and other activities.
  • The first locale in South America gives God all the Glory as they celebrate the locale’s second anniversary.
  • Bro. Efren Bacquing, one of MCGI’s Katulong ng Pangangasiwa (KNP) have witnessed God’s healing hands work after recuperating days after being admitted in a hospital’s ICU.  Cysts and stones in his kidneys were removed with God’s help through cleansing.
  • The congregation gives God praises and offers the sacrifice of Thanksgiving for keeping Bro. Eli safe in his journey on board an airplane to preach God’s words.  God’s guidance, the call of duty and the people’s clamor to know the truth overcome his fear of heights.
